Major Mel

Don’t let his name fool you, this gentleman has no military ambitions whatsoever! Major Mel is a petite sweetie who simply dotes upon his people. His dream date? Sprawling out next to you on the couch, staring deeply into your eyes, rubbing against your legs while you cook, maybe an occasional belly rub.

He is extraordinarily well-behaved, easy to handle, and would be great for a first-time cat guardian. He is so polite, even his meows and purrs are quiet!  If there is a naughty bone in his body, we haven’t found it! He has extremely mellow energy and is content to sleep all night at the foot of the bed and wait to eat breakfast together. 

He has recently started to become interested in wand toys and could use an adopter who will keep working on engaging him and initiating playtime with him, since otherwise he would be content to nap by your side all day long! 

While he’s very quick to warm up to people, Major Mel can get a little intimidated in new spaces and does get a bit spooked by sudden movements. For that reason, he would be a better fit for homes without younger children or dogs.

This cat can be adopted with a friend or as a single cat.
