Alfred

Alfred (his friends call him Alfie) is a sweet, affectionate, and very intelligent 1 year old male cat. He was recently rescued in the neighborhood of Sunset Park, Brooklyn and is ready for his forever home.

Alfred is playful and attentive with a very calming demeanor. He loves playtime with a variety of toys – teaser wands, wool balls, and his catnip filled banana toy. He’ll be happy to follow up playtime by cozying up with you in an armchair or sofa. He is a big fan of noir films from the 1930s and nature documentaries, he will happily watch YouTube channels that feature birds or fish.    

Alfred can be a bit shy in a new space, but with his inquisitive nature, he will quickly get to know all the best spots to relax and enjoy meal time. He loves wet canned food! Weruva “Lamb Burgini” is his favorite, but a variety of flavors is always welcomed. He has a healthy appetite and always leaves a clean plate!

Alfred would thrive in a single cat home or with a friend. He would benefit from a home where he can continue to grow his confidence, find his routine, and be a part of a family that will show him lots of love. Despite his first year being spent outdoors, he loves human companionship and would be a fantastic co-worker for anyone that works from home or has a hybrid schedule. 

Alfred did great at all of his veterinary wellness exams, he was very cooperative. His blood panel and dental exam were excellent. He tested positive for the heartworm antigen, which can occur with some cats from any exposure while living outside. The veterinarian explained that this test doesn’t confirm the presence of heartworms and after performing a chest x-ray, it was confirmed that his heart is healthy with no abnormalities.
