Arthur

Arthur is a sweet, affectionate, and highly intelligent 3-4 year old male cat. Arthur spent the first few years of his life roaming the backyards of Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Arthur is very ready for his forever home. He has shown how playful, graceful, and easy-going he truly is, and has no shortage of friendly head bump greetings everyday. After being rescued, a veterinary wellness exam discovered that Arthur had two broken teeth, including a canine, that was causing him a lot of pain. He had successful tooth extractions and has had a perfect recovery! He is now pain free without any complications. A wellness blood test and physical exam also shows he has a clean bill of health and that he is in great shape. 

Arthur has a very calm and peaceful demeanor. He is a greeter and will be very glad to see you everyday. He will show you by vibrating his tail and being chatty when he sees you. He can be a bit shy and skeptical in a new space but just give him a little bit of time and he will quickly get to know it and be so happy you’re around. 

Having spent the first few years of his life outside, he is still getting used to what treats are and how an indoor space can feel. He is very appreciative if humans are gentle around him. He loves gentle head scratches, cat wand / hunt play, puzzle cat games, and catnip. Arthur might get very excited if he hasn’t seen you for a while or when it’s meal time. He loves wet canned food, Weruva “Chicken, Press Your Dinner” is a favorite. He may show you overstimulation cat signals in the form of chirps and light nips. He is responsive to a calm approach and a soft tone to reassure him. He quickly understands that he is safe to be his loving self and he will let you know he is recentered with an affectionate leg rub or head bump.

Arthur would thrive in a single cat home where he can continue to grow his confidence, know his own routine, and above all, spend time with humans who are patient with him and will show him lots of love. Despite his first few years being spent outdoors, he loves humans, and he will absolutely show his forever human companions lots of affection and love. He is a beautiful cat that has a lot of love to give. A perfect companion for anyone that works from home and can provide a peaceful environment.

• Favorite food: Weruva “Press Your Dinner” (Arthur loves chicken!)

• Favorite past time: Napping in a high place, window watching, and being around you

• Favorite toy: Electronic motion cat toys, wand toys with feathers or fuzzy attachments that imitates hunting & the “Original Cat Dancer” (wire toy) 

• Favorite treat: Catnip

This cat would prefer to be adopted alone and be the only cat in the home.
