Domestic Short Hair

Jazz and Laura are the perfect blend of sweet and salty. Laura is one of the kindest cats ever to exist. The moment that she gets within one foot of you, she will begin purring. Jazz is feisty, fiery, oh-so-lovable and is more particular with her displays of affection. She has progressed tremendously over the past three weeks of her foster stay. Originally, she had to be handled with oven mitts but now she regularly launches herself into laps with a desire to be close, even if she does not always want you to pet her (of which she will give warning). Laura, unfortunately, had too many eye infections while living out on the NYC streets. As a result, she has some scarring to her eyes. She is still able to see, but seems to have difficulty visually focusing on an object. She may jump a bit when you approach her or start to pet her, but she is utterly content. She also spends a lot of time gazing up on a diagonal in an attempt to focus, which shows off the adorable tuxedo stripe under her chin. Toys that make at least a little noise are her favorite, and an excellent investment, as they will be put to much use. Rescued from the piano inside of an abandoned apartment, she lives up to the vivacious energy of some favorite jazz melodies. Jazz, true to her musical name, is insanely vocal. If she has a thought, she will express it. If she thinks you didn’t see and/or pay enough attention to her, she will emote with a series of chirps, meows, and tunes. She particularly seems to love a face-to-face conversation–if you are feeling ridiculous and willing to humor her–to show that she is being heard. Both kittens absolutely love to play, especially with a wand toy. In keeping with their opposing but compatible personalities, Laura seems to play for the joy of the experience while Jazz seems to play to win. Because of her feisty nature, Jazz is not a good fit for young children, although she would be fine with children old enough to stop when asked. Adopt these two adorable rascals, and you will be both well-loved and well-entertained.
